Job Summary:
The HVAC Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within the organization. The role involves analyzing customer requirements, developing cost-effective solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The HVAC Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, to meet customer requirements and specifications.
2. Conduct thorough analysis of customer needs and develop innovative, energy-efficient, and cost-effective HVAC solutions.
3. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including architects, project managers, and contractors, to ensure successful project execution.
5. Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate existing HVAC systems for upgrades and modifications.
6. Perform load calculations, heat loss/gain calculations, and energy efficiency analysis to optimize system performance.
7. Select appropriate HVAC equipment, components, and materials based on system requirements, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
8. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or deficiencies related to HVAC systems, providing timely support and solutions.
10. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and relevant regulations to continuously improve HVAC system designs and practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an HVAC Engineer with a minimum of X years in designing and developing HVAC systems.
3. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
4. Proficient in using design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools, for creating detailed engineering drawings.
5. Sound understanding of HVAC codes, regulations, and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
7. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
9. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in design and documentation.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
